Herrenberg, Germany

I love those days when it's just warm enough for flip flops but you still need a jacket. It was one of those lovely Sundays. Started the morning off with church and a wonderful breakfast made by my husband (turkey bacon and chocolate chip pancakes), a walk with the dogs among the blossoms, and ending the day by skipping dinner and eating ice cream in Herrenberg with friends. I love days like Sunday.

Chad and I on top of the castle ruins.
Chad risking his life for a photo op (this was not my idea).

Banana split with cantaloupe ice cream and strawberry sorbet. yum!
Last but not least... Chad's favorite thing about Germany... SPAGHETTI ICE! (ice cream that is made to look like spaghetti... as you can see.)

Sunday Afternoon

The sun was warm but the wind was chill. You know how it is with an April day.~Robert Frost

To those we love at home, may your Sunday be as beautiful as ours.
With Love,
Chad & Amy

A brief HIATUS

I'm taking a break from blogging... or you may notice less frequent blogs for awhile. You see, I have this massive project to do in order to finish my Master's and I need to focus. It makes sense since nothing, I promise you, is very exciting over here considering I stare at computers, books, articles, and journals for about 14 hours a day. I know that if I focus completely on my paper that I will finish it quickly and can then begin enjoying all Germany has to offer. Thanks for your understanding in this matter.
Until then....
p.s. WANTED: earth signs (please see horoscope above).

Joys of Godmother-ing

An excerpt from an email exchange between Lisa (cousin) and I:

"One more story for you. I think Giulia must miss you because we were at the park by our new house the other day and Giulia was playing with a little girl. The girl's name is Sarah but Giulia insisted on calling her Amy!"

To be loved-
MISS YOU TOO, GIULIA!

Is that Spring I smell?

It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade. ~Charles Dickens (except it's April!)
