4th of July Weekend

It's been uncomfortably hot this weekend. The sun has been out and it's pretty warm by 0730. Except for the actual 4th of July. It rained. Rain plus heat equals unbearable humidity for us poor souls in Stuttgart. Especially us native Californians.[ I hate humidity].

It's weekends like these where you kind of don't want to leave the house... until you remember you have no air conditioning and you have to leave the house or risk melting to death.

You also don't want to use your microwave, oven, or hair dryer because you really fear that will be the death of you.

And we don't want that.

So this is what you do to help pass the time in 90 degree heat in Stuttgart for 4th of July weekend...

You send your husband to the bakerei to pick up breakfast. He especially has to redeem himself after polishing off the last swig of creamy, cold milk. Jerk.
You let your dog lick the salty sweat plastered to your forehead because really... you can't avoid it.
You also may talk to your dog about the "Adjusted Trial Balance Sheet" you're working on for your accounting class. And your dog may pretend that he cares.
You check the mail... with your 31 [and 5 days] pregnant self before going to a friend's bbq.
You also eat your fill of German specialties because you refuse to cook. But regardless of how hot it is, it is never too hot for schnitzel mit pommes and maultauschen (my personal favorite).
You also spend an entire day at Ludwigsburg Palace. If you're going to be hot and sweaty... it may as well be in a palace.

And when you have sufficiently retained the right amount of fluid around your ankles, you head home. But not before stopping at the Lidl by your house for ice cream sandwiches.

Wishing you a wonderful 4th of July!

Ludwigsburg?!?! Chad and I went there and it was cold and rainy and we missed the English speaking tour. Of course I still had fun, and I definitely would go again. It looks like you had fun.

P.S. I'm predicting, right now, by the size of your stomach, that you are harboring a future NFL first rounder. You look beautiful though.
