Berlin, Germany

No, we have not visited Berlin in the almost 3 years we've lived in Germany.
Yes, we are ashamed.
We felt a little better when our landlords told us they visited Berlin for the first time in their entire lives last month. So there.
Oh and no, Berlin is not by the water.
----------------------------------------------

Our first stop after Copenhagen was Berlin, Germany.
To be more specific the boat docked in Warnemunde, Germany which is a 2.5 hour train ride from Berlin.
It was a long day.

Once we arrived in Berlin we stopped to see the Wall, followed by Brandenburg Gate, followed by Checkpoint Charlie and then lunch.
The later half of the afternoon was spent in Potsdam.
I would absolutely love to visit Potsdam again... it is full of German history and included historical landmarks like Sanssouci Park and Palace, where King Frederick the Great is buried. Also, in 1933 a man we all know of shook the hand of the president of Germany in Potsdam's Garrison Church. This pretty much sealed the seal in terms of the military supporting nazism.
Potsdam was severely damaged during air raids in World World II.
On a random note, according to Wikipedia... Potsdam's twin city is Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Am I the only person who finds this interesting?

In total it was about a 13 hour day.
With 9 diaper changes.
More often then not they took place on the bus.
Anyways...
you could spend 3 weeks in Berlin and not see it all.
We definitely hope to return one day and spend more quality time there.
I'm looking forward to it.
